Robert Steel AIA NCARB RIBA RIAS

Robert Steel AIA NCARB RIBA RIAS studied at and graduated from the renowned Mackintosh School of Architecture in Glasgow, Scotland. During the formative part of his career in the UK, he worked initially with Building Design Partnership and thereafter with Reiach and Hall Architects (R&H) in Edinburgh where he rose to become director. The diverse range of projects he won, designed and led won multiple awards throughout his tenure with R&H.

After collaborating with Rafael Vinoly Architects (RVA) on the Scottish Parliament Building to achieve second place in this very high-profile prestigious international design competition, this led to his relocation to the US to join RVA in New York City. His work there focused mainly on research laboratories but he also contributed to the firm winning highly coveted projects in the UK to help establish and grow the RVA London Studio. 

Robert moved to Los Angeles in 2005 where he has worked with CO Architects, HNTB Architecture and Richard Meier & Partners on a variety of different project types including medical education, institutional, research laboratories, healthcare, aviation and luxury multi-family residential / mixed use. This diversity and range of his international experience informs and guides all design projects irrespective of their scale.
